Frequently asked questions

Does PhotoArsenal work offline?

Yes. Your entire catalog is stored locally on your device. No internet connection needed to use the app.

Is my data in the cloud?

No. PhotoArsenal doesn't upload your catalog to any server. Your data stays only on your iPhone. You can back up manually by exporting your catalog whenever you want.

How do I back up my data?

From Settings → Backup → Export catalog. You'll get a file you can save wherever you prefer (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, email, etc.). To restore, use Import catalog.

Does it work with cameras not in the catalog?

PhotoArsenal includes an extensive database of cameras, lenses, and batteries, but you can add any custom gear even if it's not in the catalog.

How do lens compatibilities work?

PhotoArsenal knows the mounts of each camera and lens (EF, EF-S, RF, F, Z, E, L, etc.) and warns you when a lens isn't compatible with a specific body or requires an adapter.

Can I track rented or borrowed gear?

Yes. Each item can be flagged as owned, rented, or borrowed, with start and return dates.

Is there an Android version?

Currently PhotoArsenal is only available for iOS (iPhone). There's no scheduled date for an Android version.

I found a bug, what should I do?

Email us at support@photoarsenalapp.com with a description of what happened, steps to reproduce, and if possible a screenshot. Reported bugs are fixed with priority.
